Sericite is a layered silicate mineral with a silky luster. As a natural fine-grained muscovite, it features small natural particle size and easy ultra-fine processing. Its chemical formula is KAl₂(AlSi₃O₁₀)(OH)₂. It can be split into extremely thin flakes, exhibiting high elasticity and flexibility, along with excellent acid and alkali resistance, salt spray resistance, high-temperature resistance (above 600°C), electrical insulation, and wear resistance. Its unique layered structure provides water vapor barrier properties and a smooth skin-feel, making it widely used in cosmetics, rubber, plastics, coatings, ceramics, and other industries.
